Walter Kennedy, was a pickpocket and burglar before sailing from New Providence Island (now known as Nassau) in the Bahamas in 1718 with Howell Davis. He then joined Bartholomew Roberts as one of ' lieutenants. Leaving Roberts, he set off to find his own fortune only to be "something of a disaster on his own". He was hanged in London in 1721.
